Friday of week 29 in Ordinary Time

Jesus says people generally recognize the signs of weather: what clouds indicate rain, what wind portends warm weather, but they don’t see the signs right in front of them. Here is Jesus, right in front of them, performing signs and miracles. They should recognize his signs and miracles the same way they recognize storm clouds.
Paul says we have been called to care for each other and to acknowledge that there is one God who is father to us all, making us all brothers and sisters. We need to see Jesus’s signs and follow that path. We need to acknowledge his signs and make things right while we can. This is what those people watching the skies should have seen had they been watching Jesus as carefully as they were watching the clouds.
